Happy New Year!

I hope that 2017 will prove to be a fresh start for many people. A new year comes with the promise of a new opportunity to do the things we would like to do, or know we should do. To climb that mountain (literally or figuratively speaking), to try something new, or to renew commitments to what we are already doing.

I think a challenge that we all need to take up is outlined in Galatians 6:9,

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

Do not grow weary while doing good, while doing the right thing. Doing good could mean campaigning for free speech, being there for a friend in need, or helping someone you don’t even know.

And what about CDP? What does ‘doing good’ mean for us?

Being ‘salt and light’ in our Parliament and in our communities, amending legislation to better the outcomes for families, and standing up for people when they need someone to make representations for them.

Our members of NSW Parliament, Rev Hon Fred Nile and Hon Paul Green, are helping people that they don’t know every day. We need to pray for them as they seek the Lord for His wisdom as they do this.

This year is full of promise for Young CDP, it is an open door for us to step up and into God’s promises and vision for the young Christian political leaders of this nation.

2017 is a new year, a new beginning, a new opportunity to continue the fight for freedom, truth, and righteousness.

Let’s make it our best year yet!
