Last month, I had the privilege of attending the Albion Park Show where CDP Kiama Branch held a stall for the second year in a row. I commend the branch on this initiative to share with the community what they and the CDP have been doing for the state. It is a great way to reach out to the local community, while being in the fun atmosphere of an agricultural show.
The resignation of NSW Premier Mike Baird came as a shock for many. Regardless of whether you agree with all of his actions as Premier, he has made quite an impact in a relatively short period of time. I acknowledge and thank Mr Baird for his service to the state of NSW.
The genocide of Christians is a topic that many books could be and are written about. It is something that we all need to be aware of, however, awareness is not all that is needed. We need to stand with and stand up for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Here in Australia, we have very little idea of what persecution is like compared to what others experience in nations where religion is restricted.
In Hebrews chapter 11:37-38, it speaks of those who were persecuted:
“They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.”
Are we willing to stand up for our brothers and sisters in Christ, as they are faced with death?
Would we stand by our own faith if we were in their place?
