Support MPs who support your Liberties!
August 27, 2021
The looming shadow of mandatory vaccination edges further across New South Wales with many workers already forced or coerced by their employer or industry regulator into taking a Covid-19 vaccine. I have introduced the Public Health Amendment (Vaccination Compensation) Bill 2021 to provide compensation for workers who suffer adverse reactions as a result of being forced to vaccinate.
Pleasingly the Liberal Member for Mulgoa Tanya Davies MP has announced her intention to introduce legislation that would ban mandatory Covid-19 vaccination. This is a courageous move and I applaud her public bravery. Davies said “We as a government should be protecting people’s individual rights and circumstances. Employees should not be forced into COVID-19 vaccination. This is an assault on an individual’s freedoms and civil liberties”.
This move has gathered public support from Liberal Member for Riverstone Kevin Conolly MP, Liberal Member for Wollondilly Nathaniel Smith MP, Corrections Minister Hon Anthony Roberts MP, One National MLC Hon Mark Latham, myself and others. Conolly said “This proposal (mandatory vaccination) has crossed a line which robs people of the basic freedom to decide for themselves what medical treatment they accept”. I concur wholeheartedly.
The NSW Young Liberals are the future of the Liberal Party and even they have supported a motion opposing mandatory vaccination. The Sydney University Young Liberals (of which the Premier is an alumni of) have created an anti-lockdown website called ‘Live with the virus’. Clearly there is significant resistance to mandatory vaccination.
We can only hope that the chorus of voices in opposition grows and the Liberal Party once again recognises the primacy of our God-given liberties.
