Christian Democratic Party Opposes Homosexual Adoption

The CDP Victorian State Branch today slammed yesterday’s Law Reform Commission’s recommendations regarding IVF and adoptive parent status being given to homosexual and lesbian couples. These border on treating children as a commodity.

The homosexual lobby wants to overturn the laws of nature so as to regularize their own lifestyle. If a person chooses to practice homosexuality, it should be clear that having their own children is out of the question. Further, the adoption of children should be the privilege only of the many married couples already on waiting lists.

“We are particularly concerned about the conclusions that Dr Iain Ross of the Law Reform Commission drew yesterday when he spoke about changes to the Adoption Laws being ‘in the best interests of children.’ The Christian Democratic Party, in seeking to portray what Christians and many other people of goodwill generally believe, strongly object to single sex ‘parents’ being the proper way of raising children. In worldwide studies it has been shown that children fare better when raised by a mother and a father who are married.”
