 Ern Hemmings
Your CDP candidate for Miranda.
Ern has been a resident of the Shire for over 30 years. He is married with two adult children and two grandchildren. He well understands the stress on families and will advocate on behalf of families and parents as prime nurturers of children.
Ern has had a successful career in the industrial paint industry and served on many industry bodies as well as a number of positions in his local church. He is well aware of the specific needs of the Miranda electorate, particularly in the areas of health, sporting and community organisations.
If elected, Ern will fight to:-
- Support increasing nurses’ wages, a 1:4 nurse/patient ratio, and local management of Sutherland Hospital.
- Achieve early closure of alcohol sales venues.
- Evaluate all legislation to ensure it preserves Australian ideals and our governing system.
- Reverse ICARP increases to water and electricity rates.
- Protect Scripture classes in our schools.
