CDP Seek Answers on Abortion Death Toll

The Rev Fred Nile MLC, Leader of the Christian Democratic Party, has asked the NSW Government to provide statistics on the number of reported abortions conducted annually in NSW for the past decade.

Reverend the Hon. Fred Nile: I ask the Attorney General, representing the Minister for Health, a question without notice.

  • Is the Government aware that other States have provided figures on the number of induced abortions reported through their health services, such as, Western Australia from 1998 to 2008-86,875 induced abortions?
  • How many induced abortions have been reported annually in New South Wales for the past 10 years?

The Hon. John Hatzistergos: I will refer the question to the Minister for Health.
