Federal Election 2010 - Report
The CDP Senate results were very encouraging. CDP received 82,560 votes in the 2007 Senate Election. Preliminary results indicate that the CDP vote will increase by 3-4000 votes, which is insufficient to win a Senate seat.
Mayor Paul Green assisted by Pastor Robyn Peebles campaigned throughout NSW on the fact that that they “cared for families, the community, lifestyle and the environment.” Their main message was that “strong families build strong communities”.
I praise the Lord for the successful meetings held throughout the NSW country areas where Paul and Robyn were able to deliver the positive CDP message to CDP supporters in many NSW country towns. Many thanks to the local CDP members who were able to organise these meetings often at very short notice.
CDP had 26 excellent Candidates for the House of Representatives. Most candidates increased the CDP vote compared to the 2007 Federal Election. I would like to personally congratulate each candidate on their hard work and enthusiasm in presenting the CDP policies to their Electorates. Some preliminary results for CDP candidates (as at 25 August) are as follows:
-
Dave Vincent (Chifley) 3582 (5.1%)
-
Manny Poularas (McMahon) 2880 (4.3%)
-
Allan Green (Greenway) 2485 (3.6%)
-
James Male (Farrer) 2445 (3.4%)
-
Brendon Prentice (Mitchell) 2343 (3.2%)
-

The overall Campaign organisation went well with a great effort from all members of the CDP Office team. I would like to personally express my deep gratitude to Leighton Thew who made an outstanding contribution as Despatch Manager often working “around-the-clock”. We received the CDP yellow jackets by air freight from China just 8 days before the Election and they were dispatched to all areas of NSW by the following Tuesday.
I would also like to thank Bernie Gesling who was appointed as the NSW State Coordinator at the start of the Election. Bernie worked hard to ensure that there were Federal Electorate Coordinators in most of the 48 Federal Electorates in NSW.
I would like to say a big thank you to all Electorate Coordinators who worked tirelessly to ensure that the large Polling Booths were manned in each Electorate.
I request that all Electorate Coordinators enter your Polling Booth workers into the PBIS as soon as possible so that we are properly prepared for the NSW State Election in March 2011.
I would like to thank the many people who have provided such positive feedback for the Elections. Your contributions will ensure that the preparations for the State Election will be much more efficient and better organised.
Finally, I would like to thank our CDP donors for your great generosity in financing the Federal Election Campaign. Your contributions exceeded our modest Budget and enabled us to place adverts on the 2GB Morning Show with Allan Jones and also on Channel 7 Two in non-Metropolitan areas of NSW in the week before the Election.
We are starting preparations for the NSW State Election in March 2011. If the Lord is calling you to stand as a CDP Candidate in one of the 93 NSW State Electorates, please contact me at the CDP Office and I will send you a Candidate Application Form.
