To

Conflict
With Established Christian Doctrine
Petition
to the Honourable the President and Members of the Legislative Council Of
The Petition of the Citizens of
1.
from the time
of European settlement in 1788 religious organisations have had the legal right
to employ only persons whose beliefs and lifestyle are consistent with the
doctrine and values of that religion;
2.
religious freedoms are protected in the Australian Constitution
(S116), which states, “The Commonwealth shall not make any law… for prohibiting
the free exercise of any religion…”;
3.
the NSW
Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 S 56(d), preserves the right of religious
organisations to act in a way that conforms to the doctrines of that religion
and protects them from any injury to their religious susceptibilities; and
4.
the NSW Greens Party Anti-Discrimination Amendment
(Removal of Exemptions) Bill (Notice of Motion 11th Nov 03) seeks to
overturn these rights and freedoms by forcing private non-government
schools to employ homosexuals et al.
Your
petitioners pray that the
House will preserve the rights and freedoms enjoyed by Christians in New South
Wales over the past 215 years by voting against the NSW Greens Party Anti-Discrimination
Amendment (Removal of Exemptions) Bill thus retaining the current
blanket exemption allowing Christian organizations the right to continue to
teach and model a Christian lifestyle as mandated by Almighty God.
