The Middle East Christian Conference conducted at Parliament House Sydney on Monday 9 July 2007 attracted around 150 individuals from disparate groups, all sharing serious concern for the lives and liberty of Christians in the Middle East, where Islamist ambitions threaten the extinction of some of the world’s most historic Christian communities.
Six hours of lectures, multimedia presentations and personal interaction led to the adoption of a strong manifesto .
Speaker Paul Green, who is the Christian Democratic Party NSW Senate Team leader, stated in conclusion:
I ask the Good Lord to bless our efforts to achieve two vitally important goals:
Firstly, the physical security of all Christians in the Middle East.
Secondly, a welcoming open door for Christians who seek to escape persecution in coming to Australia.
