Rev Nile backs Cardinal Pell

Leader of Australia’s Christian Democratic Party, Rev the Hon Fred Nile LTh ED MLC strongly supports the right of Archbishop George Pell to encourage Parliamentarians on moral issues.

Australia’s most senior Catholic leader has come under fire for asking NSW Catholic parliamentarians to vote against a Bill to overturn a ban on therapeutic cloning.

“No harm is done by Christian leaders making their views heard on matters of faith and principle,” said Reverend Nile. “I hope other Christian leaders will follow the example of Cardinal Pell.”

Reverend Nile concluded: “You may depend on my distinguished colleague Reverend Doctor the Hon Gordon Moyes AC MLC and myself to vote against any Bill which compromises the sanctity of human life.”
