Janne Peterson was born in Denmark and her family migrated to Australia in 1969. Janne was naturalised in 1985. Janne is very busy with voluntary work in the media. She is a regular radio and television presenter and is in a church ministry.

Janne is the proprietor and manager of a graphic design business with government, private enterprise and various service organisations.

Janne is also the editor of the Good Report magazine.

Janne's husband Murray Peterson is an engineer and he stood in 1998 as the CDP Candidate for the seat of Watson. Janne and Murray live in Sydney.
