Reverend Nile invites Liberals to defect to CDP
Leader of the Christian Democratic Party Reverend Fred Nile MLC has urged Federal Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull to rethink his position on an Emissions Trading Scheme.
“The Australian people are rightly suspicious of any proposal which increases their burdens with a new carbon tax without any measurable benefit. The Christian Democratic Party will campaign strongly against the ETS in the Bradfield by-election. By persisting with his ill-considered support for the concept of ETS, Mr Turnbull risks voter defection from his party to the Christian Democratic Party in the By Election”
Christian members of the Parliamentary Liberal Party whose consciences and loyalty to the Australian people prevent them from treading the Turnbull path would be welcome to join the Christian Democratic Party. This occurred some years ago when Jim Cameron and John Bradford resigned from the Liberal Party and joined the Christian Democratic Party. The CDP will enthusiastically welcome such members to the ranks of the CDP as our Federal Parliamentarians.”
